Pre-cancelled stamps from France.

A pre-cancelled stamp is a postage stamp that has been cancelled before use. Pre-cancelled stamps, or "préos", are intended for large mailings. They save postal workers the tedious task of cancelling the postage stamps. The first pre-cancelled stamps did not appear in France until 1920.
