Joint stamp issues between France and various countries.
Every year, La Poste issues one or more joint stamps with a foreign postal operator. The aim is to help people discover the respective cultures of each of the two countries. Joint
issues celebrate the friendly relations between La Poste and postal operators in other countries. The very first joint issue, a Franco-German edition, dates back to 1973. It was not until 1983, ten years later, that joint issues became a real philatelic event. Between 1973 and 2011, 46 joint issues were published, illustrating subjects as varied as cultural heritage and major political issues.
