Postage stamps from 1849 to 1900: classic French stamps, used.
Cancelled classic stamps from France: from no. 1 to no. 106. Stamps from France from the early days to 1900, cancelled, in two different qualities (TB: first-class stamp without defects, B: stamp in good condition with defects). Stamps with a value exceeding €100 come with a certificate from our expert guaranteeing their authenticity.
Issued from 1849 onwards and covering the second half of the 19th century, these used stamps faithfully reflect the tumultuous and eventful nature of this period. From the Republican Ceres to the laureate profile of Napoleon III, via the Sower symbolising reconstruction after the 1870 war, these philatelic issues tell the story of our past. But with their varied cancellations, these stamps also have a typical history. Large or small dots, red or blue, diamonds and stars, Gare du Nord and Shanghai, New Year's Day and the Siege of Paris, these postmarks bear witness to an era, places and events. With such a diversity of cancelled stamps, it is easy to understand why the cancellation itself is now a subject of avid research and collection.
